Goldtops are a cross between a gold silkie and a light sussex and are very popular due to their friendly nature. They are also excellent broody hens and make fantastic mothers. You can buy a goldtop as a day old chick, confident that it is a hen as the cockerels are born bright white and the hens a lovely salmon/brown colour.
