    The blue orpington is a latter addition to the orpington family, developed by Mr Cook before the First World War. The blue orpington is becoming increasingly popular due its beautiful colour and temperament. They are notoriously 'greedy' birds and need exercise to keep fit. Their wingspan is short therefore they can be kept in areas with low fences.

    These birds are particularly suitable for smallholdings and back gardens as they are excellent foragers, small eaters and very friendly.
