We have been keeping chickens now for the past 5 years. It all started when Jody was given a couple of silver sussex hens for the back garden by a good friend. 'Chicken fever' kicked in, things kind of spiralled out of control and less than 2 years later we had over 200 chickens,  and no less than 20 breeds. (that's not including the ducks & the lonely turkey which we couldn't bear to eat at Christmas!)

At the end of 2008 circumstances forced us to move, so we downsized our setup and took with us only the breeds that we truly loved.

We have a holistic approach to our hens, and believe that happy and occupied birds equal healthy birds. Our birds have mainly natural products in addition to their food, such as apple cider vinegar, cod liver oil & and as many seeds, weeds & worms as they can find.

We are always keen to meet people who are thinking of starting up with chickens & always happy to offer advice.
